County Executive Committee Member for ICT, Trade, and Industrialization Dr. Emily Kogos has challenged the young people to embrace technology by doing online business to uplift their living standards and boost the economy.
Speaking while representing Uasin Gishu Governor, H.E Hon Jackson Mandago, EGH; on Friday during the official opening of City Palace Hotel and Butchery, Dr. Kogos said that the online business creates employment opportunities for the youths as the platform offers a broad network of connections.
We have many online opportunities, make use of the current technology like online mobile applications that can help you do business like outside catering and earn a living from it,” said Dr Kogos who was accompanied by Water CECM Ms. Mary Njogu.
The CECM further welcomed more investors to Uasin Gishu as this was a centre of business for the NOREB region with improved infrastructure to ease business in the region.
“Our aim as a county is to ensure that businesses have a conducive environment for them to be done with ease and for our people to thrive,” added Dr Kogos.
The Director, City Palace Hotel Mr. Wilson Lopeta, urged all business people to move out of their comfort zones and take advantage of available opportunities to scale up their businesses.
