Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Hon Daniel Chemno on Wednesday warned those flouting the measures put in place to curb COVID-19 pandemic.
Chemno who spoke, on Tuesday, when he received donations from Batex Millers Ltd, said the government will not sit back and watch some careless individuals jeopardize the lives of other people and their families.
If we are to defeat this scourge, we must adhere to the guidelines as stipulated. The government will have no choice but to subject you to a forceful quarantine for up to 28 Days”, Chemno warned.
Broadways Bakery, owned by Batex Millers Ltd have donated Kshs 7.5 million to the national COVID 19 kitty and ten thousand bales to the County Governments with Uasin Gishu County benefitting from 500 bales worth over half a million shillings.
Deputy Governor of Elgeyo Marakwet Hon Wesley Rotich who accompanied his host also thanked Broadways for the kind gesture.
County Executive for Health Ms Evelyn Rotich said the donations will be distributed to vulnerable households.
The Deputy later flagged off foodstuff to the Muslim community. The food was received by the Imam of Jamia Mosque Sheikh Mohammed.
County Secretary Mr Edwin Bett and Chief Officer for Agriculture Mr Julius Rotich were present.
