Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, EGH has lauded the good working relationship between Uganda and Uasin Gishu County.
Speaking when he hosted State Minister for Kampala City Authority Benna Namugwanya Bugembe in his office, Mandago said; “we have many Ugandans in our county doing business.”
“Eldoret is a transit town and the cross border cooperation is so strong connecting the two nations,” he added.
Namugwanya is in the county to attend the 2019 County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA).
Mandago said the games will help bring cohesion and integration as well as ease of doing business.
The Governor further said the trade between Kampala and Eldoret has seen tremendous growth of Eldoret town.
We pride to have the best weather, education hub, highest banking institutions outside the capital city, Nairobi and tourist destinations. We have more diverse products in this region, rich in culture and beautiful sceneries. We will soon have the city status,” he noted.
On the CASA games, the county boss said “We are honored to host this event, its a big event in the calendar. Everything will run smoothly.”
On his part, the state minister thanked the Governor for good hospitality and said Eldoret and Kampala’s historical relationship dates back to colonial times.
County Executive in Charge of Finance CPA Julius Ruto, County Secretary Edwin Bett, County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat among other dignitaries were in attendance
The Executive Governing council committee of CASA and Several speakers were also present.
Uganda will be hosting CASA in December.
