The Department of Water on Friday started the drilling of Uswo borehole in Kaplolo Location, Karuna Meibeki ward in a move to improve the livelihoods of residents through access to clean and safe water.
The project that is set to benefit more than 200 households was launched by H.E Governor Jackson K. Arap Mandago, EGH, flanked by the Uasin Gishu County Assembly Leader of Majority Hon. Josphat Lowoi.
CECM Water Ms Mary Njogu in her remarks reiterated the County’s plans to bringing water to every household and hinted that more boreholes will be drilled in other areas of the county. Already Karuna Meibeki Ward has benefited with more than 19 water projects.
This project is set to improve your livelihoods and we are looking at 100 percent water connectivity in the County” said Njogu.
Health Services CECM Mrs Everlyne Rotich and Water Chief Officer Mr Simion Kemei were among top county officials present during the launch.
