Following the tremendous strides made by Co-operative societies in Uasin Gishu County, The champions has continued to receive the delegation from various counties for bench-marking to borrow best practices in our societies.
The County Government of Trans-Nzoia is the latest County to be hosted at the Cooperatives Department to learn on ways of improving the sector in their county.
Speaking while hosting the delegation CECM Ms. Esther Mutai said that they have done a lot in order to achieve the growth of Cooperative societies as well as value addition.
” We have merged two sub-counties into 3 regions that is Moisoy, Marathon and Boratet so that they can come together to do their business to get more yields in their produces for value addition.
…..we have a strong team of staff and we’ve deployed them to grassroots and are working tirelessly in ensuring that all societies in our county are active.” Said the Department head.
Chief officer Mr. Pius Kigen noted that the Department is a stand-alone which has seen as work effectively in reaching all societies in the county.
He added that their plan is to bring everybody to join cooperatives and Sacco’s so that they can benefit from the county Enterprise development fund.
On his part county Co-operatives, Commissioner Mr. Malaki Tenai highlighted on the departmental directorates adding that they have visualized themselves into having their on Act…
Leading the Trans-Nzoia team, Commissioner Samuel Warui said that they have learned a lot from Uasin Gishu County and they shall spread the knowledge into their county.
The team later visited Tuiyoluk Milk cooling plant and Moisoy Milling Plant both in Moiben Sub-county.
