Uasin Gishu County Government through the Department of Education and Culture is in the process of mapping out cultural, tourist and historical sites across the County.
This will be achieved through site visits and documentation aimed at the gazettement of such sites thus attracting expansion and development.
On Tuesday, the Director in charge of Culture Mohammed Dakane visited the famous Ngara Falls where he assessed the site which is a tourist site as well as a cultural place used for traditional ceremonies.
According to Dakane, these sites mean a lot to the County in terms of preservation of culture and also pulling tourists.
Uasin Gishu boasts of various sites that double up as both tourist and monumental sites among them the Kapsiliot hills in Karuna Meibeki Ward and Sergoit hills in Sergoit.
The assessment is set to continue to identify and map out these sites before they are finally gazetted.
