Uasin Gishu residents have been urged to take advantage of its tourism potential, especially in the hospitality industry to invest and do business both locally and internationally.
Speaking during the official opening of City Palace Hotel and Butchery in Eldoret town by CECM Trade Dr. Emily Kogos, the County Executive Committee Member for Water, Environment, Natural Resources, Tourism and Wildlife Management Ms. Mary Njogu highlighted the need for such facilities in the region that will help accommodate more tourists and boost business in the area.
As the centre for the NOREB region, we need such facilities to accommodate the large numbers of investors and tourists trooping into the region. The opening of more hotels in the region is an indication that Uasin Gishu is the best destination for investors and tourists,” said Njogu.
Currently, the department is mapping out all hospitality facilities to be able to partner, develop and promote tourist sites in the region.
“We will ensure we add this hotel to the list of hotels in our sites for both international and domestic tourists to easily locate it,’ added Njogu.
