Officials from the Department of Land and Urban Development of County Government of Trans Nzoia have applauded Uasin Gishu’s Department of Land, Housing, Physical Planning && Urban Development which they termed as advanced on matters of Lands and Physical Planning.
Speaking on Wednesday at the main department’s offices in Eldoret during a long-day bench-marking mission, Trans Nzoia’s CECM for Lands and Urban Development Susan Nelima said that Uasin Gishu has made major strides that according to her will be of much benefit to them upon implementation.
“We are impressed with how quick you handle building plans approvals just within a week,” she said.
She added that they are going to introduce what they did not have in their system so as to further streamline their sector which will result in ease of service delivery.
On his part, Uasin Gishu CECM in charge of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning Nelson Maritim advised counterparts to consider working smart noting that issues of land are technical and need to be handled with care.
“The law on land is very clear and if every citizen follows what is stipulated, then there will be no wrangles witnessed,” said Maritim.
Maritim took the advantage of the forum to introduce to them the need of a partnership for the planning of a peri-urban town of Moi’s bridge since it is in the border of the two Counties.
Uasin Gishu’s Ag. Chief Officer for Lands and Physical Planning Jackton Kiprop, his counterpart for Trans Nzoia Susan Ngera, Uasin Gishu and Trans Nzoia lands technical officers were present during the bench-marking mission.
