THREE WEEK INTERNS INDUCTION EXERCISE ENDS

Induction exercise for the 2019/20 internship program ended on a high note on Wednesday afternoon with the last cohort exiting the stage ready to acquire requisite experience from the County Government of Uasin Gishu.

Speaking during the official closing ceremony Devolution and Public Service Management CECM Mr.Barnabas Tarus thanked the interns for availing themselves for training.

He asked them to be keen on what they have been trained on, further challenging them to grab the opportunity they have been given to them.

“This internship is made good for you… explore, grab and guess it jealously.

He added “ We are spending over 110 million for this program to shape your future the youths of this country, our leaders of tomorrow”

The department head asked them to be good ambassadors of Uasin Gishu in various places they will be posted.

Mr. Tarus thanked all partners for the good cooperation they have had with the County Government of Uasin Gishu.

County Public Service Board Secretary Mr. William Koech advised the interns to go out of their way to get the experience in which the program is intended.

He urged them to respect their seniors in various organizations they will be posted saying this was key and important in helping them be absorbed into those organizations.

Mr. Koech asked them to dedicate their time to learning and avoid wasting on other destructive activities such as being glued to social media platforms.

Public Service Management Chief Officer Ann Koech warned the interns against misbehaving during the internship period saying that contracts will be terminated.

I am sure that the objective of this program has been achieved,” Noted the CO.

Director Human Resource Management Irene Kapting’ei thanked the interns for being discipline during the entire training period. Advising them to keep them to uphold the same during the one-year engagement with the county.

One of the interns Purity Kosgei could not hide her joy after completing the induction.

“I want to thank the county leadership led by H.E Governor Jackson Mandago for this golden opportunity given to us to get experience,”

“I graduated in 2013, I have attended so many interviews but I know where I have failed. I lacked experience,” she adds

The training featured on government structure, human and financial policy, personal branding, national values and principles, government revenue streams among other areas.
