Uasin Gishu County Governor H.E Jackson K. Mandago has a passion for the youth. His greatest dream is to see the youth of Uasin Gishu engaging themselves with profitable income generating activities.
It is for this reason that he is always encouraging the youth to join Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) to acquire technical skills.
In a tour to Ainabkoi Sub County in February this year, Governor Mandago met David Kibet Kiboinet a youth who was addicted to alcohol. He was touched by the sad state of affairs and he talked to the young man on importance of going to a rehabilitation facility.
David Kibet Kiboinet accepted the kind offer from the County boss and he was checked into Haven Recovery Centre in February for a period of three months. Here, he went through the rehabilitation program successfully.
Today, Kibet is a changed man and a living testimony to other alcohol and drug addicts. Governor lauded Kibet for embracing change and making an effort to better his life and becoming a role model to his friends.
The Governor and his Deputy H.E Daniel Chemno celebrated the success with Kibet displaying a certificate of participation that outlined types of activities which he undertook during the rehabilitation period.
