The NOREB counties representatives finalised on NOREB policy, work plan, and legal document that provides guidelines on the governance and administration of the economic bloc
The region has acquired new energy with which the bloc can move its potential and empower itself economically. The bloc is expected to offer favourable opportunities for investors seeking to invest in the region.
“We shouldn’t be NOREB designers only but be part of the investors plan” said Uasin Gishu county executive for Trade Mr Philip Melly.
It was also concluded that roles of the organs created shall be enhanced for the successful implementation of the economic bloc objectives. The governing organs created include governor’s summit, inter county economic council, technical committee, secretariat and sector technical sub committees
The Nandi County Chief Officer Mr. Jacob Sisey gave his closing remarks by thanking all the NOREB members for their commitment in the continuous effort of establishing and operationalizing NOREB as the next economic frontier in the North Rift
“It has been a great pleasure hosting CECMs, COs legal experts and economists in Nandi for this noble exercise which saw finalisation of policy document as well as the legislation framework “said Mr. Jacob.
This was concluded by an excursion to the touristic site at the famous Shau Morobi and Kapsimotwo gardens.
