The County Government of Uasin Gishu has embraced technology in various platforms ranging from parking, licensing and online job portal among others.
Speaking during a one-day forum organized by Kenya Alliance of Residents Association (KARA) in partnership with Safaricom LTD, County Executive in charge of ICT, Trade, and Industrialization Dr. Emily Kogos highlighted that the administration has embraced the use of technology in most of its operations.
Dr. Kogos disclosed that through the use of cashless, paperless payment system, technology has made services easier, quick and convenient for the members of the public.
“The County Government has already established four ICT centers in four Sub-Counties which has eased operation within the County hence bringing services closer to the people,“ Said the former University don.
“We are in the process of establishing other ICT resource centers across all the wards in the County. Currently, additional two are near completion,” added Dr. Kogos.
On the other hand, KARA CEO Henry Ochieng Lauded the County’s effort in promoting trade adding that embracing technology has placed it on top of the map. He said that KARA will partner with the County to springboard technology-related activities so as to drive Change.
Safaricom’s Victor Ngumo also pledged their support towards the achievement of the same.
The function was also attended by Moi University representatives who have played a key role on technological development in the County.
