The County Government of Uasin Gishu is committed to ensuring that staff welfare is well taken care of as it improves employees’ mental and physical health and motivates them to work optimally in achieving effective service delivery to the public.
Speaking while launching staff wellness week under the theme ‘’Invest In Health for a Better Tomorrow’’ at the County Headquarters, Uasin Gishu County Deputy Governor H. E. Hon. Daniel Chemno said human capital was a major factor in service delivery in any organization.
The exercise entails different tests which include body weight, blood pressure, cholesterol among others. Prescriptions are made where necessary.
The Deputy Governor said that his administration will invest heavily in sports to ensure that staff and the residents carry out an exercise to avoid lifestyle diseases caused by a sedentary way of life.
Also speaking during the exercise Public Service Management and Devolution County Executive Member Mr. Barnabas Tarus urged staff to exercise the culture of seeking medical check-ups in order to curb developing illnesses in time so as to avoid financial strain in seeking treatment.
The CEC Finance CPA Julius Ruto encouraged all staff as well as members of the public to take advantage of the services provided during the annual staff wellness week which will run from 4th to 6th December 2019.
