Samngeny Women Group in Ainabkoi Olare ward, Ainabkoi Sub-County on Friday benefited from 450, 1-day old chicks courtesy of Uasin Gishu’s Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Program (KCSAP) in partnership with the County Government of Uasin Gishu.
The ward majors on dairy farming, poultry, and Irish potato value chains which have so far seen the groups flourish.
Julius Rotich, the Chief Officer for Agriculture urged all beneficiaries of the KCSAP program to maximize the opportunities they have received to improve on their economies.
KCSAP Director, Cosmas Lagat, said their main focus for the groups is the availability of markets for their various value chains.
The group will receive a total of 1400 day old chicks going forward.
