Reaffirming H. E Jackson K. Mandago EGH, unwavering interest in ensuring service delivery to Uasin Gishu residents, the department of Roads, Transport, Energy and Public works has come up with a Rapid Results Initiative (RRI), operation that aims to gravel, grade and maintain road networks across all the 30 wards of the County.
In an inspection of ongoing grading and graveling of roads in Kapsaos ward, Turbo sub-county, County executive committee member for the department; Eng. Gideon Birir, said the projects are geared towards the realization of an enabling factor of economic growth in the county.
This program is currently ongoing in several wards among them, Tulwet-Chuiyat, Cheptiret-Kipchamo, Kapseret, and we are looking into putting the rest of the wards in groups to work on all of them simultaneously following a schedule that has been prepared from next week. This will enable us to cover all the thirty wards within a very short period,” said Eng. Birir.
Observing the busy roads at Mailli Nne area in Kapsaos ward, grading has already been completed at the senior chief road, while at Tairi Mbili kapkoros road grading and graveling was ongoing.
Mr. Benson Livondo, a teacher at Joyland Peace academy was so thankful to the county leadership for the road maintenance work ongoing.
This road usually has huge human traffic from matatus, students, residents and business people along the road and its maintenance was so timely. Thanks to the county leadership for this,” Mr. Livondo said.
The Department has pulled together all the resources available from graders, tippers, Excavators, water boozers, rollers, and human resource, to have successful completion of the roads works in the county.
