Development partners in the Health Sector have been challenged to share information with relevant departments of the County Government of Uasin Gishu for action and proper planning.

This would help the administration with accurate and up to date information with regard to new trends of modern day illness. The Deputy Governor said today. He added that the longtime relationship the County has had with the development partners would be enhanced through proper structured ways of engagement to avoid the collision and double funding of projects

The Deputy County Boss further stated that they would continue working with all the stakeholders and development partners for the common good of serving the electorate with quality service and ensuring that the illnesses have been suppressed and eliminated in the long run.

While giving an assurance of prudent use of the donor funds to development partners, The DG appreciated the stakeholders for supporting the administration in improving and strengthening the health systems which has led to improved services offered in all the County owned facilities.

H.E Chemno was speaking while launching a grant of 800,000 US Dollars from USAID-Ampath that is expected to fund maternal child health in the entire County.

On her part, Health County Executive Committee Member Mrs. Everlyne Rotich said that her focus was to have the entire population access health services with ease.

She said that all the necessary equipment and supplies have and shall be availed to all the facilities in the County to ensure that the residents are attended well, further stating that all facilities in Uasin Gishu are NHIF accredited.

She challenged the residents to ensure that they are registered with the National Hospital Insurance Fund.(NHIF) She further commended Ampath for outstanding partnership established with the administration in suppressing the killer virus HIV/AIDS in the region.

During the stakeholder’s engagement presentation from Turbo Uasin Gishu Health pilot preliminary findings and experience, Universal Health Care strategy for Uasin Gishu County, Social-behavioral findings influencing health services and insurance uptake, door-to-door health insurance enrollment process were shared.

Other leaders who spoke during the meeting included Uasin Gishu County Assembly Health Committee Chairman Mr. Hosea Some who assured the department Assembly's support in all the legislation required to have the departments’ vision achieved.

He challenged the department to move with speed and roll out the health insurance program in the entire County terming the pilot program in Tapsagoi as a success.

Ampath Chief of Party Prof. Sylvester Kimaiyo said that they would continue supporting the administration in its operation.

Other County Officials present were CECM's Dr. Emily Kogos (ICT and Trade), Mrs. Mary Njogu (Environment), CPA Julius Rutto (Finance) Esther Mutai (Cooperatives and Enterprises).
