As Construction of Kimumu/Bahati Market phase one nears completion, plans have been hatched to have the premise secure. Senior County officials toured the facility to inspect location where a police post will be installed.
Speaking while leading the high powered Delegation, County Secretary Edwin Bett noted that the security of traders and locals was paramount and the need to have a police post was key.
He said that, both County and National governments will partner to have the police post constructed within a very short time and that officers will be deployed to boost security.
On her part Trade and Industrialization CECM, Dr. Emily Kogos said “This is a state of the art market that will be used by traders across the region and therefore having police officers within the premise will build confidence for the traders,”
On his Part County Police Commandant Jonhstone Ipara said that upon completion of the post, 20 police officers under the command of an Inspector of Police will be deployed to man the facility.
