The County Executive Committee Member for Cooperatives and Enterprise Development, Ms. Esther Mutai has urged cooperatives to always plan ahead.
The CECM was speaking at Chebororwa ATC while officially opening a 4-day Governance Training for the second lot of cooperatives societies drawn from Turbo and Kapseret Sub-Counties.
The CECM further proceeded to train them on Strategic planning where she advised them to set their priorities right.
“Set your priorities right and put all your energy on them.” Added Ms. Mutai.
The training aims at equipping the cooperative leaders with skills on Corporate Governance, Structure and management of a cooperative society, the role of members in corporate governance, Record Keeping, Financial Management, Budgeting and Budgetary Controls, Compliance matters in Cooperatives, Ethics and integrity, Strategic Planning, Interpretation of Financial Statements, ICT and Human Resource matters.
Last week Farmers’ Cooperatives from Moiben and Soy Sub Counties were trained on the same and Ainabkoi and Kesses Sub-Counties are scheduled for the next training.
