Performance Contracts Expected to Improve Service Delivery

Uasin Gishu County Health acting Chief Officer Dr. Jones Cheruiyot has called upon Members of the Health Management teams currently undergoing training on performance contracting to ensure that they give a keen hear to the training.

He said that service delivery is expected to be boosted once the officers from all cadres in health sector are appraised when the process begin.

Dr. Cheruiyot challenged the hospital mangers to ensure that the department is ranked number one in service provision in the County.

“During the last appraisals we were ranked number four….. the appraisals were done up to directors' level but we want to trickle down to the last officer in the facility,” Said the Chief Officer.

The Medical Officer said that the hospital managers are expected to be leaders in the industry and signing a performance contract is only way of gauging individual and collective performance.

Acting County Director of Health Clinical Services Dr. Wenseslaus Kuria was also present during the third day of County Health Management Team training in Kibelio Hotel, Baringo County.
