Opening of new roads in Langas Ward today continued as one of a top priority assignment in The Department of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development for provision of programs edged towards slum upgrading.

With the newly opened roads in Block 1, Langas Ward, Kapseret Sub County, a significant number of households will have improved access to health centres and schools as well as access to markets.

Chief Officer for Physical Planning and Urban Development Mr Kenneth Mbeka this morning joined by the Director Physical Planning Mr Daniel Koech today made a site visit to several roads that have been opened and those that are still in the progress.

“Road opening is a very essential exercise that will not only provide connectivity in road networks but also open doors for other infrastructural developments eg. Sewerage Systems and lighting.
The opening of the road is also a relief to the frequent drainage issues experienced in Langas, “said Mr. Mbeka

He was accompanied by planner Mr. Cyprian Chesire and Surveyor Mr. Mukwana.
