Observe laws, residents urged

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is calling on her residents to comply with all the County stipulated law which are easy and simple.

This, according to the County Attorney Mr. Stephen Lel enables one to operate their businesses comfortably with zero interruptions.

Occasionally, the County administration has been witnessing differences with the business community on matters of compliance with business law.

“The County laws are simple but offenders have had a rough time because when one fails to comply for instance on obtaining of permits, it translates to closure of businesses”.

“…..A number of buildings have been flattened as a result of not adhering to the laws”. Stressed the County Attorney on Wednesday during a Judicial Open Day Forum at the Eldoret High Court.

While citing a number of occasions which has seen the County partner with the Judiciary, Lel noted the recent launch of Court-Annexed Mediation as well as publicizing its procedures on the County’s LED screen.

On his part, the Eldoret Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa maintained that the initial plans to reduce case overloads have been affected.

“Case hearing will be a week after accusations are made and plans are underway to establish other Courts in every Sub- County to aid in decongestion witnessed in existing courts “.

“…Cases originating from Sub County will be determined from that level thus cutting on travel expenses, “reiterated Obulutsa.

Hon Lady Justice Hellen Omondi, LSK North Rift Secretary general Seso Omolo, Soy Sub County deputy Commissioner among others were present.
