NYALILBEY, CHEPKURMUM TRADING CENTRES TO GET A PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT AND LAND USE PLAN

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has signed a contract with Kreis spatial planning consultancy firm for the establishment of Physical development and Land use plan for Nyalilbey and Chepkurmum trading centres that are among the fastest-growing urban centres in Uasin Gishu.

Physical Planning and Urban Development Chief Officer Mr Kenneth Mbeka together with the County Attorney Stephen Lel signed the contract emphasizing how important the project is as this will provide a framework for coordinating stakeholder participation and implementation of the plan.

We expect that the project will be delivered with the highest ethical and integrity standards,” said Lel.

Mr. Mbeka asked the contractor to ensure professional standards are followed fully and that the project to be delivered within six months from the commencement date.

The project aims at identifying the main planning issues hence providing a framework which is a basis for developing standards and regulations in the centres,” said Mr. Mbeka.

Director Physical Planning Mr Daniel Koech, emphasized the need for incorporation of environmental concerns in the centres while carrying out the project.
