Stakeholders from the Tourism industry converged at an Eldoret hotel on Thursday 29th March to deliberate on avenues that will aid in propelling tourism activities in the North Rift Economic Bloc region.
This comes as NOREB is fixing its roots deeper on the Tourism sector, which upon realization will play a key role in fast-tracking economic growth in the region.
The delegation led by Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) emphasized on strengthening synergies and partnerships between the public and private sectors for effective and far-reaching positive performance, this basing on the region.
Giving an address to the delegates, County Executive in charge of Environment, Water, Tourism and Wildlife Management Ms. Mary Njogu called on the tourism body, Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) to market the North Rift region as it has wide range of Tourism sites that needs to be fully utilized.
“I am so glad that KTB officers had an opportunity to sample our regions iconic attractions and I am optimistic that visitation to these attractions sites will increase as a result of the new strategic direction the board is taking in marketing the same”, added the CEC.“…the forum today draws delegates from all Counties in the NOREB region and provides a platform for diverse stakeholders to deliberate on the challenges impending competitiveness of the region’s tourism and inherent opportunities that we do not exploit”.
The meeting that was organized by the KTB brought on board CECs, COs and Directors from the NOREB Counties, hoteliers and tourism operators from the North Rift region
