Deputy President Dr. William Ruto echoed Governor Jackson Mandago’s call for National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to increase their health insurance coverage in private hospitals.
The two leaders were among other leaders who spoke at the launch of Kimbilio’s Hospice’s Livingroom Hospital at Kipkorgot, Kapsoya Ward, Ainabkoi Sub-county.
Provision of Universal Healthcare is a key pillar of development and I commend Governor Mandago’s administration in establishment of health facilities and provision of ideal conditions for private organizations like Kimbilio to thrive”, said DP.
Earlier on Mandago had mentioned that private health facilities in Uasin Gishu County play a critical part in easing the pressure for provision of quality healthcare services on public facilities.
Your excellency, Kimbilio Hospice and Living Room Hospital are good examples of private healthcare providers who compliments services of Moi Referral & Teaching Hospital. This is why we request that they are given NHIF accreditation so that patients may access their exemplary service in palliative healthcare services,” Mandago said.
Speaking at the same function Health CECM Evelyne Rotich said Uasin Gishu County is well on the path to the provision of Universal Healthcare.
She thanked the Presidency and Governor Mandago’s leadership for the goodwill they have shown through prioritizing healthcare as a key component of development.
