KENYA SOCIETY FOR THE BLIND DONATES TO THE COUNTY COVID-19 KITTY

Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno on Thursday received donations from Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB), that will assist in combating the spread of Coronavirus.

Speaking while receiving the donation comprising sanitizers, face masks, white canes including an assortment of foodstuffs, Chemno thanked the society for the kind gesture adding that the County Government is in the forefront in making sure that matters concerning PWDs are taken care of.

County Government of Uasin Gishu has been identified as one of the most complied counties in the implementation of laws that protects the rights and dignity of people living with disabilities”, He said.

The society’s country chairperson Samson Waweru, who led the delegation, said the items donated will benefit the visually impaired members of the society in Uasin Gishu county.

The Deputy was flanked by the CEC for Education Joseph Kurgat and Chief Officer from the same docket Jane Njuguna. Also present was the Society’s Head of Rehabilitation Services Mr. Samuel Chirchir.
