Over 800 households in Karuna/Meibeki Ward will get water connectivity from the Kaplolo dam once the Kaplolo water project has been completed.
This is after the Department of Water, Environment, Natural Resources, Tourism, and Wildlife Management visited the dam to survey and assess the available water sources.
According to Moiben Sub-County Water Officer Noah Kebenei who was accompanied by his Kapseret counterpart Charles Tonui, the works of the project will entail construction of pump house, laying of distribution lines, construction of cattle troughs, repair of the spillway, and installation of pump sets and solar panels among other activities for the residents to benefit from the project.
According to the Chairman of the project, Mr Meshack Rono the water project will be a relief to the residents since they rely mostly on irrigation for a living.
The water project which has an already constructed 120,000 liters ground masonry tank will also serve, Kaplolo Primary School, Catholic Church, cattle dip, and Kaplolo shopping centre among other facilities in the area.
