Involve the Young People to Grow Cooperatives

These were the words of the CEC for Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Ms Esther Mutai during the closing ceremony of a 3-day training of County-funded societies as she challenged them to bring more young people on board.

She echoed the need to form farmers union with the aim of promoting diversification and value addition to enable them to succeed in the competitive market.

She further advised them to do an annual audit of their accounts, manage costs effectively by reducing expenditure and include training in their annual budgets.

The Ag. Chief Officer Mr. Isaac urged them to make plans to ensure all leaders in their societies receive training and assured them of the administration’s support in matters of training.

“We as a County, we endeavour to continue training you in areas that need to be supported.” Added Mr. Lagat.

Present in the meeting was Ms. Druscilla Cherogony, Cooperative Officer in charge of projects and other Cooperatives officers.
