Investors trickle in as completion of first phase of AEZ nears

The African Economic Zone (AEZ) pearl river industrial park at plateau is soon going to achieve the first phase comprising of 40 companies.

Already 14 companies are at the initial stage of construction. This is having acquired the necessary permits from the relevant authorities to begin construction and installation.

On Tuesday, an investor from Grupotech solar company had talks with the County Executive Committee Member for ICT, Trade and Industrialization Dr. Emily Kogos and deliberated on a number of avenues among them how to get construction approvals among other technical steps.

The company is targeting to produce solar power up to 40 MW.

Upon establishing the first unit of 40 companies, Eldoret town will begin benefitting in terms of job opportunities for the youth, manufacturing among other benefits.

Transformers, glass, green energy and ceramic tiles manufacturers are among the 14 companies that are on site.
Present during the meeting was CO Trade and Industrialization Simeon Tanui, Director Kipleting Mengich and Trade officer Brenda Rono.
