Interns Induction Kicks off

Interns recently recruited by the County Government of Uasin Gishu have been challenged to be good brand ambassadors for the new internship initiative targeting to empower the youths in Uasin Gishu County.

Speaking while officially opening the training in Chebororwa ATC, County Executive in charge of Education Mr. Joseph Kurgat urged the interns to ensure that they deliver as expected in their various organizations in which the  will be posted.

He urged them to set very high standards so that organizations continue absorbing interns from County Government of Uasin Gishu in the future.

The CECM further said that the administration will make a follow up to ensure that the interns are learning in the organizations posted.

“I want to challenge you to really behave well during the entire period we shall be with you. We shall track you to the end of the period,” said the Educationist.

Mr Kurgat added that Governor Mandago’s government was commited to empowering the youth through various programs put in place citing the internship and subsidized fees for the youth enrolling in various Vocational Training Institute.

On the other hand, the County Public Service Board through Chair Mr. Joseph Tanui urged the interns to take the induction with the seriousness it deserves saying that it was important to familiarize themselves with traditions of various organization they will be posted.

He said that the board was acting on the Governors manifesto on empowering the youth, during the recruitment exercise. The interns are expected to be posted to various organizations that have entered into an agreements with the County Government of Uasin Gishu to accommodate the interns for a period of one year.

The exercise is expected to run through the entire week.
