World Bank auditor Mr Davison Muchadenyika on an impromptu visit to projects undertaken in Uasin Gishu County through Kenya Informal Settlements Improvements Programme (KISIP), has commended the county leadership for spectacular maintenance works in projects that were done in Kimumu, Huruma, Munyaka, Kamukunji and Racecourse areas.
The auditor noted that in most of the counties that he has been to, projects have been neglected and was surprised at how the county has been able to keep the projects viable years after completion.
Hosting the auditor, Chief officer in charge of Physical Planning and Urban Development Mr. Kenneth Mbeka joined by Director Roads, Eng. Linus Yego, said that the County in appreciation of the projects has set aside funding to ensure the maintenance of the roads and drainage systems, as well as paying bills from the installed high musts in the areas.
He also added that through the established Municipality public foras, the county has been able to sensitize the residents on taking responsibility of solid waste management in their areas.
