Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot on Monday held a consultative meeting with Chief Officers and Ward Administrators and discussed key issues including, the project identification committee, August’s Devolution Conference, Bursary Committee and ECDE Milk Launch.
Speaking during the meeting, Eng. Barorot called for efficiency and effectiveness of good service delivery in the projects and development sector.
The Department of Devolution and Public Administration helps the County in developing and implementing service delivery to the grassroots, this helps in improving Uasin Gishu residents through good leadership, innovative technology and efficient infrastructures,” said Barorot.
Chief Officer for Devolution and Public Administration, Mr Mark Some, reiterated that projects should be approved on quality workmanship, further encouraging qualified contractors to be tasked with county projects as a key aspect of development.
I call upon the project development and implementation committees to enhance project implementation to achieve the 50 per cent score by June 2023 and the charge of initiating projects should start as soon as possible,” said Some.
Sub County Ward representatives were tasked to conduct monitoring and evaluation of ongoing development projects in various departments.
