County Executive Committee Member for Education and Vocational Training Dr. Janeth Kosgei has asked the Vocational Training Centre Principals across the county to showcase a number of innovations they have done during the incoming Devolution conference to be held in August.
Speaking when she hosted the principals from 13 Vocational Training centres, the CECM said participating in such forums will offer an opportunity not only to showcase their innovations but also to carry out training and research.
She further asked the principals to maintain the quality and standards of teaching and operations in order to ensure that they produce the most competent and marketable students.
Dr. Kosgei also urged the principals to come up with more innovations which can solve the problems and issues in society.
Innovation is core. It is about solving global problems and I am interested in examples of innovative technologies which primarily give tangible solutions,” Dr. Kosgey said.
She further encouraged the Principals to improve enrollment by deploying methods like going to public barazas, and publicizing TVET courses so as to lure more students who are idle in the villages to take up courses being offered at their different excellence of learning.
She also urged the principals to come up with co-curriculum activities that can compete with other institutions saying they will reinforce the class work.
