COUNTY HOSTS WORLD BANK OFFICIALS AS THE PARTICIPATORY CLIMATE RISK ASSESSMENT DATA COLLECTION KICKS OFF

The County Executive Committee Member for the Department of Water, Irrigation, Sanitation, Energy, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Dr Abraham Serem on Monday hosted officials from the World Bank – Financing locally-Led Climate Action (FLLOCA) who are in the county to oversee the Participatory Climate Risk Assessment Data Collection ongoing across the County

Dr. Serem noted that the enactment of forestry law will be an important tool in protecting the forests adding that the enforcement part should be key to avoiding pollution.

Chief Officer Energy, Environment and Climate Change Ms. Mary Kerich on her part highlighted the importance of sensitizing the public on the effects of climate change and the mitigation measures.

The team led by Chief Officer Mary Kerich later made impromptu visits to Moi’sBridge and Moiben Wards to oversee the PCRA data collection exercise.
