Cooperative Societies remain a cornerstone for aggregation and value addition even as the County Government of Uasin Gishu is working on avenues to see these ventures actualized.
On Thursday, County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Industrialization, Tourism, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development, Martha Cheruto, together with senior cooperative officers toured Sirikwa dairies, Mateeny Farmers Coop society and MoiSoy Union to check on their preparedness on matters value addition that the county is gearing up for.
Cheruto said: “It is important to get to know and customize the solutions for these initiatives to kick off.”
This comes when the county is also pushing for the establishment of an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) that is aimed at growing local entrepreneurship in manufacturing and services under the export business accelerator in order to improve the export business by small-scale indigenous enterprises.
