County Executive Committee Member for the Department of Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development Mr Anthony Sitienei, has affirmed the Governor’s manifesto fulfilment through the Urban elevation of various townships among them, Mois Bridge, Turbo, Ziwa and Burntforest to Municipalities.
Today while meeting the adhoc committee for Mois Bridge, he asked the members of the committee to ensure that all parcels of land that are registered as public be identified and protected so as to allow them be developed by the County Government as intended.
“We are looking into Public Utilities within Mois Bridge township at Elhare, Tuiyobey, Nzoia Sisal that have been established for various sectors which include schools, hospitals, Dams, Cattle Dip and the market. In view of the above, we also want to establish the Town manager’s office to be fully functional with enough staff, furniture and equipment for it to serve the residents as we anticipate the elevation to the Municipality level,” said Mr. Sitienei
Town Manager Mr. Isaac Kosgey said that business in Mois Bridge was vibrant and hence the elevation of to Municipality meant that more services would be availed to the residents there.
Director Lands Ms. Nelly Jerotich, Director Urban Planning Mr. Jacktone Kiprop and Administrator Lands Mr. Sila Boit noted that planning was key for the establishment of Developments that conform to the Urban Areas and cities act.
Among the ad-hoc committee present were Mr. John Simiyu, Mr.Samuel Mwangi , Mr.William Ong’ang’o and Mr. Joel Ngeno.
