KAPSERET COMPLEX TO SERVE A COCKTAIL OF FIRSTS

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is in the process of setting up an Ultra-modern Sports Training and Recreation Complex in Kapseret Sub-County.

The County, through the Department of Youth and Sports, is working on the establishment of the Sports Complex that will sit on a 21-acre land near St Joseph’s Primary School, Kapseret Location, in Kapseret Sub-County.

Speaking during a site visit, County Executive for Youth and Sports Eng. Lucy Ng’endo said the project will also have a training trail that will stretch into Kapseret Forest.

The project, which already has a nod from the County Assembly, will also feature both sports training amenities and nature walk paths.

The training center will occupy part of the 21-acre government land while the nature trail will connect from the center down to Kapseret Forest.

The County Executive also said the plan is to have between 21-42km trail for both sports, around the edge of the forest, for training and nature walking.

Director of Youth Affairs, Peter Ruto, said the young people require places where they can relax and that incorporating sports and nature makes it the best project altogether.

Kapseret Forest Station Manager, Joseph Ondieki, said once the proposal has been formalized, the station will follow up on the commencement of the project.

The project will serve a cocktail of ecstatic recreation, by-the-forest sports training flavored by that cool breeze, therapeutic sight and chirps.
