Officers from the County Inua Biashara Fund on Monday visited their sister section of the Enterprise Development Fund for a benchmarking mission that aimed at picking vital lessons on the general management of the fund.
The Inua Biashara Fund was established in 2020 to give MSMEs loans at an affordable interest rate of 5% to help them grow their business and improve their economies.
Speaking during the meeting Director County Enterprise Development Fund Isaac Lagat challenged them to commit themselves to the fund by giving their best and engaging Sub County Enterprise credit officers on matters of repayment of loans also noting that there is a need for capacity building to perfect their work.
As an Enterprise Fund, we have automated our loans system to enable us to monitor repayments, check the status of the societies and make it easier for members to know their general information on lending” noted Lagat.
Lagat also advised them to ensure that they train qualified loan applicants so they understand the importance of that loan even before issuance.
Inua Biashara Fund credit officer Abdi Akim Ali who led the team said their focus was to identify the caps to improve their fund as well as familiarize themselves with the Fund’s general operations, training, and issues of loan recovery among others.
