Uasin Gishu County residents have been urged to think closely about matters of climate change in all their activities as this is an issue affecting every person.
Speaking during the public participation for Ward Climate Change Planning Committee in Karuna/Meibeki Ward, Moiben Sub-County, Ag. Director Livestock Abraham Kiptanui lauded the residents for turning up in large numbers.
Let us adopt climate change mitigation measures like climate-smart activities for sustainability,” noted Kiptanui.
On her part, Environment Officer Abigael Kibet challenged the residents to ensure they identify all their mitigation and adaptation plans effectively so that they are well captured in the County Climate Change Action Plan.
When we think about climate change, let us remember the generations to come if they will benefit from the resources we have now,” added Ms. Kibet.
More emphasis was given to water catchment conservation, embracing good agricultural activities, and tree planting.
The exercise is expected to come to a close tomorrow in Kapkures ward (Chukura Centre), Ziwa Ward (St Anne Catholic Church), and Ngenyilel ward (Kipkaren River Chiefs Office).
