INITIATIVES TO UPSCALE ZIWA AND KESSES HEALTH FACILITIES

Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration is keen on providing quality healthcare to residents of Uasin Gishu County as envisioned under the second pillar of the Nguzo Kumi manifesto.

Speaking when she hosted a delegation from Weigao Medical International Company Ltd (WEGO), Chief Officer for Promotive and Preventive Health Mrs Joyce Sang said the foreign company is in the County to discuss areas of partnership in the upscaling program of Kesses and Ziwa Sub County health facilities to a level 5 hospital.

She noted the need to put up an automated nurse station in the facilities, saying that this will ensure a quick medical process and nurses’ responses to patients’ calls for timely medical attention.

We want a one-time response whereby a patient’s bed is connected with a bed call indicating the bed number and when he/she rings, the nurse immediately responds and the medication is wired immediately to them,” said Sang.

Chief Officer of Clinical Services, Dr Paul Wangwe pledged the Department’s commitment to work with the partners in achieving better medical services across the County.

WEGO East Africa Managing Director Mr Li Yuanguang said the organization is ready to work with Uasin Gishu as the first County government to partner with in equipping the facilities with quality medical equipment and to assure better health service deliveries.

The team later toured Kesses and Ziwa Health Facilities to assess their conditions.
