Plans to construct the state-of-the-art market in Eldoret town has gained momentum following Wednesday’s consultative meeting between the county administration and the County Pension Fund (CPF) team where they discussed the architecture and the design of the iconic facility.
The market is estimated to accommodate at least 10,000 business persons, host a clinic/dispensary, a police post, offices for Government and Non-Governmental Organisations, Saccos, and a parking lot.
Speaking during the meeting, County Secretary, Edwin Bett, said the county administration is ready to support the project calling on the architects to fast-track the planning to pave the way for the establishment as soon as possible.
County Executive for Roads and Public Works Eng. Joseph Lagat on his part stated that his docket is ready to open up road networks within the market to not only necessitate its accessibility but also the town.
Among those present at the meeting were Chief Officers Elphas Kesio(Trade) Eliud Chemaget (Finance) Chief of Staff Nicholas Chepkwony, Municipality Manager Tito Koiyet, and County Attorney Stephen Lel.
