The County Government of Uasin Gishu on Wednesday received and flagged off 490 Oxygen cylinders to the health facilities from the National government delivered by Amref Partners.
Speaking while representing Governor Jonathan Bii, County Secretary Edwin Bett expressed gratefulness for the donations noting that there has been a crisis in the health facilities before and therefore the initiative will go a long way in improving the delivery of health services in the County.
Our people look up to the best services from us, and so our aim is to deliver responsive and quality health care,” He added.
County Executive for Roads Joseph Lagat who represented Health Services Executive Dr. Sam Kotut appreciated the initiative as it will strengthen the health care system.
We are currently upgrading all our Sub County hospitals with theatre and another requirement being sufficient to supply of oxygen,” He noted.
Chief Officer Preventive and Promotive Health Mrs Joyce Sang together with her counterpart Chief Officer for Clinical Services Dr Paul Wangwe expressed their gratitude to the National Government and the Amref Partners for the support saying the cylinders will boost the health sector in the region.
The Amref will continue supplying oxygen to all the facilities across the county.
