COUNTY AND UK ORGANIZATION TRAIN ON MANAGEMENT OF STILLBIRTH AND NEWBORN DEATHS

The County Government of Uasin Gishu’s Department of Health Services, in partnership with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine on Monday, held a capacity building workshop on Research and capacity building on stillbirth and neonatal deaths.

Speaking while representing the County Executive for Health, the Director of Clinical Services, Dr Ronald Kipchumba, noted the need to ensure timely referral systems to avoid pregnancy loss to mothers.

We are going to support our community health volunteers(CHVs) so that these services reach as many people as possible and in time,” said Dr Kipchumba.

He further said the county will be working closely with the various stakeholders to assure stable management of stillbirths.

On his part, Health Services’ Deputy Director of Administration and Planning, Richard Cheserek, said the Department is determined to work together with every willing partner to ensure sustainable capacity building of the staff and sensitization of the community to ensure proper management of pregnancy matters.
