COUNTY PLANS TO UPSCALE THE HEALTH SECTOR

The County Executive Committee Member for Health Services Dr Sam Kotut on Wednesday visited Turbo Sub-County Hospital to assess the efficiency and safety of the facility.

The assessment exercise is currently underway across all the health facilities in the County, which aims to upscale health facilities and equipment to ensure efficient, quality, and timely medical attention as far as the health safety of the residents is concerned.

Dr Kotut noted that Governor Bii’s administration has implemented strategies to build additional health facilities and renovate the old ones to ensure a better environment and give adequate treatment to the people of Uasin Gishu.

“We want to operationalize the theatre in Turbo-Sub County to reduce the congestion in the MTRH, where major surgeries are hundled, and allow minor ones to be operated from this hospital, among others that we have identified,” said Dr. Kotut.

Member of The County Assembly for Tapsagoi Ward Hon Nickson Bitok thanked the Health Department for the good work and encouraged the health service providers to work as a team to see Governor Bii’s administration deliver on this noble course.

The team that included Chief Officers Dr Paul Wangwe Clinical Services and Mrs Joyce Sang Promotive and Preventive Health, Acting Director Planning and Administration Dr Sarah Kipkulei also visited the proposed construction site for the level 1V facility in Tiret.
