Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has assured a conducive business environment.

Speaking on Monday while flagging off the Revenue Enhancement Team(CRET), Bii encouraged the residents to pay the revenues before the deadline of 31st March 2023 to avoid being penalised.

We need to have enough funds to support the administration and run the County activities in all departments timely so as to benefit our people and grow of our County,”he said.

He also urged the business community to pay their rates to enable the government to improve service delivery.

The County Boss urged the team to be friendly to the business community.

You are required to observe the code of conduct while on duty. Identify yourselves to the clients and properly identify themselves and uphold their code of conduct to avoid misunderstanding and mishandling clients”, Bii said.

On the other hand, Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot said the revenues will get a 50% penalty after the lapse of the deadline as he encouraged the clients to pay on time as this will help the County surpass the revenue collection target of 1.4b.

We are going for compliance; we wish that our clients yield to our efforts to make Uasin Gishu great,” said Eng Barorot

County Executive for Finance and Economic Planning Micah Rogony and his Trade Counterpart Martha Cheruto affirmed their commitment to the collection of revenue across the streams; business permits, signages, public health, betting food handling among others.

The teams pledged their support in ensuring they surpassed the target by closing the linkages in the streams.
