The County Government is on it’s top gears in the preparations towards hosting the world TB day at the Huruma grounds set for 24th of march,2023.

This has seen Governor Bii’s administration partner with Eldoret GK Main Prison, Division Of National TB Program,LVCT-Health in conducting the free TB screening exercises at the Prison’s ground which targeted inmates, prisons staff, and the Neighboring community.

According to County Tuberculosis Coordinator, Mr.Charles Makwila, 1845 persons were screened for TB,320 were presumptive and taken xrays and 41 had sugge15stive xray findings.All those with suggestive findings had their samples sent for laboratory analysis before commencing on treatment.

Makwila urged those found positive to adhere to medication which will be prescribed to them once the results are out. Other test done included voluntary counseling and testing for HIV.
