The construction of the ultra modern iconic 64 and the champions markets in Eldoret town is set to begin soon.The delegation from the county department of Trade and Cooperatives affirmed this on Tuesday during a discussion with architects from the Ministry of Lands and Housing.
The architects are on the final stages of designing and drowning of the market.
Speaking during the meeting Acting Chief Officer for Trade and Industrialization Ambrose Tarus said Governor Jonathan Bii is passionate about the project adding that the department will provide necessary support to see the works begin for traders to swing back to their normal trading operations.
Trade Director Kipleting Mengich said:”We are here to review and see the progress of establishment and to identify other factors that might be incorporated before the team finalizes on the designs”
Mwaura Kibe, in charge of Social Infrastructure said the ministry welcomes the county views on the designs of the facility urging the market committee to ensure they follow up with the social environmental impacts.
Acting Chief Officer for Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Nixon Cheplong and Director Coop and Enterprise Isaac Lagat were among present.
