NEW ACCOUNTING OFFICERS TAKE CHARGE OF DEPARTMENTS

Newly appointed Uasin Gishu Chief Officers on Wednesday embarked on the induction and familiarization exercise on the County operations.

Deputy Governor Engineer John Barorot led the executive team in welcoming the new thirteen COs while calling on them to put more emphasis on service delivery.

Uasin Gishu County Assembly of Uasin on Tuesday afternoon approved the names of the COs before handing the report to Governor Jonathan Bii for official appointment.

At the induction, the DG stressed on the need for the new members to support Governor Bii’s administration in delivering the Nguzo Kumi pillars for the benefit of the residents.

I want to welcome you on board. You represent specific pillars key in the provision of services to every citizen in Uasin Gishu. It will be important for you to put your time and energy into the work,” he said.

He was categorical that they shall be measured by performance and promptness in delivering the promises made in line with the development agenda.

While lauding the directors who have been acting as Chief Officers, Eng. Barorot maintained that there is need for them to work collectively in enhancing and fulfilling departmental deliverables.

County Executive Committee Members (CECM) led by Dr. Sam Kotut (Health), Micah Rogony (Finance), Eng. Lucy Njoroge (Sports), Abraham Serem (Environment) and Eng. Joseph Lagat (Roads) praised the directors for stepping in during the transition process.
