COUNTY’S ENHANCES FIGHT AGAINST LIQUOR

Governor Bii’s administration is committed to ensuring that illicit brew and consumption of alcohol has no place in Uasin Gishu County.

Speaking while chairing the meeting at County Secretary’s boardroom, Acting Chief Officer for Administration Ms. Florence Lagat stated that there is a need to root out the consumption of alcoholic drinks in the County. She called on the law enforcers to be professional while discharging their duties as this will help the county to win the battle against illicit brew.

Our frontline warriors against this menace should be uniformed to minimize vices during the exercise. We should also keep our ward administrators informed of the crackdown against peddlers in their jurisdictions”, said Lagat.

Josephine Tireito, Alcoholic Drinks Control Board chair noted the County’s effort in fighting the menace saying that many bars and outlets have since been closed even as the 2023 inspection and licensing has been rolled out

Present in the meeting were Directors Koiya Arap Maiyo (Alcoholic Drinks Control Board) Kiptanui Barno (Director Public Participation and Administration), and Cosmas Kerich(Enforcement) among other ADCB compliant Officers.
