COUNTY, AGENCIES HOLD CONSULTATIONS ON EASE OF DOING BUSINESS

It is always our intention as a department to have an engagement with the business community. This will ensure that businesses flourish and the county’s economy and its potential of growing into an industrial hub is realized going forward.

These were the sentiments of County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Industrialization, Investment, Tourism, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Ms. Martha Cheruto on Wednesday at Kenya Industrial Estates(KIE) during a consultative meeting with various agencies on mechanisms that can see various agencies carry out their businesses with ease.

The CECM said the Governor’s Nguzo Kumi Manifesto also aims at achieving business sustainability noting that coming together to dialogue with the business community will see these agencies deliver according to their mandates for the benefit of the county and the country at large.

North Rift Region Kenya Industrial Estates Manager Peter Rotich applauded the county for entering into a partnership with GIZ/ Stanbic Foundation on a capacity-building program that has seen various county SMEs trained on coaching programs for them to grow economies and transform lives through job creation within their enterprises.

Kenya Association of Manufactures chair William Ong’are proposed the establishment of an industrial zone to open up more opportunities for the county even as it gears for the attainment of city status.
