Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii flanked by Soy Member of County Assembly Isaac Chirchir on Monday commissioned St. Cecilia Kabenes ECDE Water Project and Kabenes ECDE in Soy Sub-County.
Speaking as he commissioned the projects, Governor Bii reiterated his administration’s commitment to increasing water supply to all households to improve the livelihoods of the residents.
People want water and my government will work to increase water connectivity throughout the county and boost the economy of our people,” said Governor Bii.
He further asked parents to consider taking their children to technical and vocational colleges to reduce idleness and promote self-reliance for the young people.
The scope of works for the project entails solarization, pump house construction, 24,000 litres steel elevated water tank and pump installation. The borehole has a yield of 5 cubic metres per hour and currently serving the school and over 30 households for domestic livestock and irrigation purposes. Plans to increase the distribution lines are on course.
Present was CECMs Eng Joseph Lagat (Roads), Dr. Janet Kosgey (Education), Director Youth Stephen Kemoi, Ag. Soy Sub-County Administrator Becky Rotich, Ward Administrators Jacob Bitok (Soy) and Paul Kibor (Kapkures) among other top county officials.
